The one and only Franklin BBQ, what can I say except I need a nap. 715am I joined the queue, and finally after smelling BBQ for 4.5hrs we sat down to a platter of goodness. 1lb of brisket, 1 rack of ribs, 2 snags, 3/4 of a lb of pulled pork and 1/4 LG of turkey.
Even though the god of Texas BBQ wasn’t on the pits, the food certainly lived up to the hype. Brisket was a stand out, even better than Snows BBQ. Ribs also top notch, maybe a little salty for my taste but perfectly cooked. Turkey was the surprise of the day and will probably get a run on the bandit menu at some point. Pulled pork was served without sauce, something we tried and got smashed by judges but tasted great mixed with a bit of Franklins vinegar sauce.
If you’re ever in Austin Texas (long shot) it’s worth the wait.
